Where to Wed?

Over the past decade, the “destination wedding” has become a force within the wedding industry. 1 in 4 weddings is a destination wedding - that’s an incredible 350 thousand every single year. The number one reason why? Weather! Opting for a sandy beach and an ocean view sure seems like a good call to us, so we rounded up some of the country’s favorite destination wedding spots.

U.S. Virgin Islands

The largest and most popular islands in the chain are St. Thomas and St. John, and they make a fantastic destination wedding venue. Not only are they stunningly beautiful, but they use the same currency, no international data rates, and there are dozens of direct flights to St. Thomas for your convenience. Keep in mind that you will need to ferry to the other islands in the chain, but they all offer amazing weather, beaches, food, and activities for your traveling guests.

Hawaiian Islands

Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island all offer very different landscape opportunities and tourist levels. Oahu is the busiest island, so if you’re looking for a more bustling vibe with tons of great shopping, that is the place for you. Maui is somewhat quieter and has some of the best beaches in the world, with lots of activities for your guests including golf, surfing, snorkeling, and kayaking. Kauai is much slower pace, more secluded, and is known for its lush and undulating landscape - as with all the islands there are great beaches and lots to do. The Big Island is the largest and contains 11 of the world’s 13 climatic zones allowing you to choose from sandy beach, to green forest, to snow capped mountain, to an almost lunar-like landscape!

Antigua

Antigua is an island rich in maritime history dating back to the 18th century and it remains a strong hub for international yachts and jet-setters. That, in turn, makes it a great destination for swanky resorts and bourgeoisie atmosphere. Antigua has 365 beaches, so your biggest problem may be picking just one to tie the knot on!

Jamaica

Jamaica is one of the most popular destinations for American’s destination weddings. It can be one of the most affordable Caribbean options as there are a wide range of resorts to choose from. They are a country deeply rich in culture, with flavorful food and dynamic music, and they have a diverse landscape from beaches to cliffs to gardens and waterfalls.

Mexico

We cannot forget our neighbors to the south! Los Cabos, Tulum, Cozumel, Cancun, the options in Mexico are almost endless, all beautiful, and all filled with unique personality! A short trip for anyone making the journey from the States, Mexico offers amazing resorts, bountiful beaches, countless activities, delicious food, and a truly immersive, authentic history.
