NWM Goes Prime Time
Posted by Nautical Wood Maps on 27th Aug 2020
We're going to keep this one short, but we had to let you know that Nautical Wood Maps has gone prime time, dear friends!
Every now and then we get interesting requests from people asking us if they can feature a map from the collection on a television or movie set - some of you may have seen our pieces on different shows over the years, most recently the Netflix series Dead to Me. Often we don't know exactly where the maps will appear so we just have to wait and see where they pop up next. As you can imagine, it never gets old seeing the product up on screen and styled so beautifully, but this is an even greater “pinch-me” moment because the map is not just making a rare appearance in passing, it is taking center stage every single night on A Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
That’s right, hung proudly behind him at his desk each evening is the beautiful map of Charleston in the traditional color scheme, and it looks so wonderful! It is such a delight to have talented set designers, interior decorators, and decor experts choose these pieces to enhance sets, homes, and offices in so many different genres. It really does typify what we have always believed about these maps: they are for everyone, for any occasion, and for all decor and design styles. For Stephen Colbert the map of Charleston is a heartfelt nod to where he was born and raised, a city that means a lot to him. We revel in being able to bring a moment of illustriousness to everyone’s favorite locale.
These moments on screen are really magical for us, but make no mistake, we also truly believe that being a part of your personal home and/or office decor is really magical too!
